Software & platforms
Domain boundaries, integration patterns, APIs, cloud platforms, scalable delivery models, and architecture that remains operable.
Global IT Domain Architect · DHL Global Forwarding
I connect software architecture, platform engineering, AI, data, DevSecOps, governance, and security—turning complex technology into capabilities that work in the real organisation.
Profile
I am a software architect and international technology leader with a background spanning computational neuroscience, data and machine learning, software development, cloud platforms, operations, security, and organisational transformation.
Today, as a Global IT Domain Architect at DHL Global Forwarding, I work across organisational and technological boundaries. I shape software architecture and platform capabilities, support AI-enabled solution design, and help turn governance, security, and DevSecOps principles into practical decisions.
My approach is empirical and collaborative: understand the real capability, make assumptions testable, and build systems and teams that can learn from production rather than merely survive it.
Current focus
My work sits where technical depth, organisational reality, and long-term accountability meet.
Domain boundaries, integration patterns, APIs, cloud platforms, scalable delivery models, and architecture that remains operable.
AI-enabled solution design grounded in long-standing experience with scientific ML, data products, computer vision, and GPU computing.
Delivery capabilities, automation, observability, security by design, and the operating models that make them sustainable.
Decision ownership, policies, traceability, risk, and controls designed to enable good work rather than create ceremonial gates.
Experience
A career shaped by moving between disciplines—and learning how to make the connections useful.

Science, AI & teaching
Machine learning and high-performance computing are not recent additions to my profile. They grew out of my work in theoretical and computational neuroscience.
I modelled neural networks, analysed large neuronal datasets, explored natural-image statistics, built computer-vision systems, and used CUDA, MPI, Python, Matlab, C/C++, OpenCV, and scientific computing tools well before large language models moved AI into the mainstream.
Teaching has remained equally important: from university courses in C/C++, Python, mathematics, data analysis, and colour physiology to Google Summer of Code mentoring and, later, building international engineering teams.
Technology range
Beyond work
I explore landscapes and local history by bicycle, write illustrated travel stories, and enjoy finding the layers beneath apparently ordinary places. Books, museums, photography, and electronics projects tend to follow me home.
